Behold, The One has prevailed! May The People greet Him with everlasting paeans, for (as His wife threatened...er, "promised") He "will require [us] to work," "demand that [we] shed [our] cynicism," and "engage." He will "never allow [us] to go back to [our] lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."
So long, my un-engaged, uninvolved, and uninformed life! I shall miss you only until our national reeducation (er, "process of becoming informed") is complete!
Speaking of becoming informed, I wonder when my government-subsidized subscription to ObamaWeek starts? And the promised slowing of the oceans' rise? Oh...and the healing of the planet?
Come through, O Great Messiah! Don’t disappoint us...or we just might cling even more bitterly to our guns and religion!
This is fabulous... Obama, Biden, the MSM—none of them get it. "Joe the Plumber" asked The One a question, and no one forced Him to answer the way He did. Faced with no way to spin His answer, what did the media do? Why, launch a smear campaign against Joe, of course!
Pardon me for stating the glaringly obvious, but it is of absolutely no relevance who "Joe the Plumber" is. Whether Joe the Plumber were a convicted felon or the king of Monaco, it doesn't change Senator Government's answer to his question. Admitting on the record to wanting to redistribute wealth—that is what is news-worthy, not the personal history of the intrepid interlocutor.
And then the same reporters who have steadfastly refused to investigate the Ayers-Obama, Wright-Obama, and ACORN-Obama connections are surprised by the righteous indignation of folks like Tito Munoz? Please.
If someone had predicted in 2001 that we would go seven years without a second major terrorist attack on American soil, I doubt that anyone would have believed him. I certainly would have been skeptical.
And so: a heartfelt "thank you" to our military, our intelligence agencies, our President, and those in Congress who have been willing to take concrete steps to protect our citizens and take the fight to our enemies. Thanks to these, we have not yet been reduced to fighting Al-Qaeda on the streets of New York and Los Angeles.
